Titled "Waiting for the Cold to Pass and Spring to Come," it renders the patient heart that abides the last chill before warm spring. Her gathered, still pose affirms that one who endures the cold will meet the spring—keep patience and hope in low seasons, trusting that all good things are on their way. Drawn entirely in the minimalist baimiao (plain-line) manner, the work uses pure ink contour without a single wash of color, letting generous blank space and flowing, unbroken lines express the gentle grace of the ladies.
