A loose-haired, bearded elder lies on his back in complete abandon, limbs stretched wide and chest and belly bared. A few long, spare lines trace his vast sleeves so the figure merges with the empty paper—soundly at ease, bound by nothing.

The inscription reads, "With heaven for a roof and the earth for a bed, only one who sleeps thus can grow a great spirit." Dwelling between heaven and earth with an unconstrained heart, the sage embodies a capacious, noble spirit that rises above trivialities.
