In ink, Zhong Kui stands quietly sword in hand, face lifted slightly, long beard seeming faintly damp, expression relaxed and content; the ink tones are light, moist and gentle, the brush at ease, and pale ink sweeps the sense of rain across his shoulders and around him—as if a welcome rain has just come, the heat washed away, and even the great demon-catcher shows a rare ease in the cool.
